Kingdom Day
Ten Suffolk Coastal team members joined nearly 100 other East Anglian Filling Station team members at a day to remember near Diss on Saturday. James Nickols and Richard Fothergill led an inspiring, exciting and challenging day which began with a fabulous worship session and then we heard about the vision and growing work of Filling Stations throughout the country (and the world!). Before lunch we were encouraged by Richard Fothergill to grow and develop our meetings, with more of a focus on evangelism and outreach as well as continuing to encourage each other by finding the best speakers and developing our prayer ministry. Regular breaks gave us opportunities to meet others from different Filling Stations and share ideas and experiences. After lunch, there were seminars where we had a chance to think about our own meetings, their strengths and weaknesses and ways to move forward and there was a prophetic session which many found moving and helpful. Later in the afternoon we were treated to Sandy Millar’s huge experience in the area of prayer ministry, where he explained the theory of prayer and then we put it into practice, with many experiencing the Holy Spirit’s power and the healing power of prayer. A delicious supper was followed by a model Filling Station meeting, with another great worship session (what a brilliant band) and Sandy Millar speaking to us again on ‘Being Filled with the Spirit’. A hugely emotional and positive day, that left us feeling that God really is working through this movement, using many different people in new and exciting ways to re-energise and renew rural communities throughout the region.
