It is almost exactly 30 years since a group of Christian farmers sent 25 in-calf heifers to Uganda and started what has become a transformational charity in the lives of over a million poor people in Africa. The milk price in the UK was at rock bottom and they were faced with sending good dairy cows to be slaughtered. They met in David’s Lapford farmhouse kitchen to talk about the possibility of sending them to Africa where the milk would be good for the health of the children – but it turned out to be so much more than that……………………………………
