Join us and “Fast as you can” in Lent
We are inviting you to join hundreds of others in a Daniel Fast at some stage during Lent 2019 (6th March to 18th April).
We did this in 2016 and 2017 and saw the Lord doing amazing things!
In the New Testament fasting focuses on establishing initiatives and bridgeheads for the progress of the Kingdom.
‘While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them”. So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.’ Acts 13:2-3
This was a decisive turning point for the entire mission of God. Since the beginning of the Filling Station, our continued experience and testimony is that our special days and seasons of prayer lead directly to greater encounters with the Lord, more conversions and greater initiatives in ministry.
How to fast – Daniel style
- Fast as you can (not as you can’t) – enjoy the fast
- Keep to plain foods – no alcohol, meat, chocolate, or delicacies
- Fast for as long as you want – a day, a week or the full three weeks
- Focus on prayer, worship and scripture (Acts 13:1-3)
- Journal – make notes on the how you are getting on, what happens in your life and what God does and says
Please pray for:
- The National Filling Station Renewal Conference in Leicester (16-18 May 2019)
- Refuel 2019 (21-28 July 2019)
- Conversions, healings and encounters with the Lord across the Filling Station network
- Pray for your own Filling Station – those who lead, speak and minister
- Ask that many people will encounter the Lord through The Filling Station
- Ask for Resources to take the work forward – both people and finances
- Bless your local churches – Pray Numbers 6:24-27 over them
- Pray for existing Filling Station meetings including international meetings in Sweden, France, Switzerland, Bulgaria and the USA
- Ask that just as the Spirit led the Elders at Antioch to embark on the greatest mission in Christian history (Acts 13:3), so The Filling Station will be completely obedient to the leading of the Spirit at this time
- Pray that the Lord will continue to use The Filling Station as a platform to launch new initiatives
- Pray that this Lent will be a decisive step forward for the work of God in Britain
