The death of Her Majesty the Queen
We, at the Filling Station network, want to honour our late Sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Along with the nation at large, we mourn her loss and pray for Prince Charles and the other members of the Royal family at this sad moment.
We also want to give thanks to God for the amazingly faithful, honourable and humble woman she was. She fulfilled her vows to God and the nation when she said in 1947, aged 21, that “I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.”
Having a true and personal faith herself she was able to live a life of exceptional service during a time of unprecedented change for the United Kingdom and the world. She was a role model for us in so many ways and will be hugely missed.
We, as a network of Christian people, thank God for her, and recognise how extraordinarily blessed we have been to have had her as our Monarch for so long.
As Proverbs 29.2 says, ‘When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice…’
