John Hawley, retired Archdeacon of Blackburn

The Venerable John Hawley

Ordained in the Church of England in 1974 at York Minster by Archbishop Donald Coggan. Served in Hull, Bradford Cathedral then Vicar in Doncaster mining community in 1980`s. Team Rector of Dewsbury creating Dewsbury Minster, and then the Evangelical Archdeacon of Blackburn until 2015. An emphasis throughout on Mission, Evangelism, Discipleship but with a Pastoral Heart. Born in Blackpool of South Yorkshire parents who lost their home in the Sheffield Blitz. Keen on Cricket, Golf and walking. Keen on the richness in the breadth of the Church of England
