A Glorious Week at Refuel 2024

Our Filling Station staff team and pilgrims from all over the UK, Europe and the world enjoyed a sun-soaked week in the Scottish Highlands, at the annual Refuel Scotland Festival of Faith.

Now in its seventh year, the FREE-to-attend festival has steadily grown to welcome over 2000 people from every denomination or expression of Trinity believing church. Event Director (and Filling Station Trust Consultant for Scotland) Craig Mackay explained “the event is founded upon the prayer of Jesus in John 17:23, calling us to demonstrate such perfect unity that the world might know that Jesus was sent by God – for this to be demonstrated, we have been called to invite ALL of God’s people, denominations and organisations into one place for His glory and fame”

The 100 strong voluntary team of Trustees and Event Directors are determined that Refuel be experienced as a “holiday in the presence of God and God’s people” and the content of the Festival deliberately offers incredibly wide and diverse opportunities, activities, seminars, workshops, family times, worship spaces and even a growing music festival called Refuel Rocks!

The festival is ostensibly outdoors but with plenty cover from the sun and offers –

  • Main stage for corporate worship times and evening teaching
  • Several other live stages for Refuel Rocks
  • Campfire worship by Church Outdoors
  • Young adults space for 18+
  • Café, restaurant and outside catering
  • Youth Zone ran by PaisMovement
  • Kids Zone ran by local Moray churches
  • Campsite, Campervans and Motorhomes with all services, showers and welfare facilities

By all accounts this summer’s festival was the best yet, with over 30 different ministries all taking on their own marquees and offering teaching, equipping, prayer and a call to mission to festival goers. With the festival being free to attend, many organisations used this opportunity to invite their supporters and members and one ministry even held their own mini-conference!

Craig Mackay said “this is what we dreamed would happen – moving away from the old “market place” where ministries paid to stand a table in a hall and hope that folks might come see them – we have released the ministries attending to create content that forms the event programme and it is really taking off”

Not only was there 4 days of diverse teaching on over. There was also the “Refuel Rocks” Festival running every day from 3 different stages. This is a new part of the festival with dozens of Christian artists, songwriters and worship leaders all sharing their music all day, every day all across the festival – A kind of “Glasto for God” that looks like it will keep on growing and offering even more diverse experiences for festival goers.

As the dust settles on this years festival, the testimonies of God’s goodness are rolling in to the Refuel Office with praise reports of Salvations, Healings and Renewal but most of all the sense of unity and family are reportedly tangible amongst all those that attend. If you fancy joining us next year, put Sunday 20th to Thursday 24th July in your diary now.
