Mid Suffolk FS Celebrates 10 Years of Blessings
Andy Little first had the vision to start a Filling Station meeting in Mid Suffolk in 2014. The first meeting was held in Stowupland Village Hall in July 2014, and up to September 2024 there have been 79 meetings.
This would not have been possible without God’s faithfulness in bringing people forward to help: speakers, worship leaders and the all important hospitality! At the beginning of the September meeting, we were asked to jot down some of the ways that we have been blessed over the last 10 years. Here are some of the responses that were made.
- It has been a particular joy to meet, worship, pray and share as brothers and sisters in Christ – no labels, just true fellowship. Praise God!
- When Finny came and sang Amazing Grace, there was such a power moving in the room
- The worship has been a wonderful way to release the Holy Spirit’s touch in my life
- An opportunity for personal prayer with people who believe the Holy Spirit will work!
- Even if we are weary, we go out of the door refreshed
- God has filled my heart with love. In Filling Station I have been able to worship him freely. Music leads me quickly into his presence, and also gives me a peace that fills me afresh ready to carry out my ministry.
Andy then spoke to us about God’s call on his life: about getting the FS meeting started, pushing through some of the difficult, even discouraging times, and how God has been faithful throughout that journey. The story of how the Village Hall was miraculously made available every 2nd Wednesday of the month confirms how God was working before the meeting was established.
Andy has now responded to a call to ordination in the Church of England, and will be undergoing training over the next couple of years. His time as the leader of this Station therefore comes to a close for now, as he devotes his time to the training. We are thankful to him for his commitment and faithfulness to Filling Station, and pray that he will recognise God’s continued blessings and faithfulness during this new season of life for him and his wife, Jackie.
What happens next to Mid Suffolk Filling Station? With God’s help, it continues under the guidance of a new team, and we look forward to many more blessings during 2025 and beyond.
