REMEMBER

At the start of last month’s Filling Station in Glasbury Village Hall I updated everyone on how bravely Katie Russell had been fighting a chest infection in both lungs in hospital.  Katie joined us in her wheelchair every month, enjoying both the worship and the talks. Sadly she died just two nights later, very very peacefully as she transferred to the arms of her beloved Jesus.  Her funeral and celebration will be this coming Monday 12th May at St Davids Church, Llanfaes, Brecon, at 11.30am. Her request is for people to wear bright, sparkly colours to reflect her joy of life. Burial at Hermon Chapel Rhosgoch will be later on at 4pm.

Caleb Gary and his group from the new church plant in Rhayadr led us in a Presence filled time of worship.  As they finished with the stirring song “Oceans” and the chorus “Let it rain, open the floodgates of heaven”, the whole hall seemed to be filled with the gentle mist-like rain from heaven, gently saturating but with no run-off as from a heavy rainfall.  A beautiful envelopment from our loving God.

Rhys Roberts brought to us some inspiring thoughts from Psalm 27:13 “Yet I am confident that I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.”  We may have been praying for something but not seen any breakthrough.  We could have lost faith in such times if it were not for His Holy Spirit strengthening us.  We may be struggling to hear and see Him in some situations, but we need to REMEMBER points in our lives when we felt His Presence and guidance and goodness, then watch what God does for our soul. When the disciples were afraid in the storm on the Sea of Galilee, Jesus said to REMEMBER the loaves and the fishes and how He has authority over the elements and shows us to take that auhority in each situation. Revelation 19:10 says how the essence or spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus. REMEMBER what He has done previously to release that same power again, especially when we feel rotten or downcast or praying for healing or any situation.  Praying in expectancy releases results.  1 Cor. 4:30 states that the Kingdom of of God is not of words but of power.  Faith is an action, not just head knowledge.  We are part of the body of Jesus so we, like Him, can command healing in His Name.  REMEMBER  who your are.  “Can you feel the love tonight” is the empowering song Mufasa sang to his son Simba in the Lion King.  We are special, loved, chosen and made in God’s image.  Rhys encouraged us to notice the seemingly mundane things that He can speak through to us rather than waiting for a big flash in the sky.  The music group Abba sang the song “Don’t go wasting your emotions … Lay your love on Me”.  A poster outside a church said “Abba Father – Take a Chance on Him”.  Remembering how testimonies are so powerful, Rhys said about an 87 year old woman who came to a healing service deliberately for a new heart.  Someone there saw in the Spirit and angel standing near the woman holding a new pumping heart for her and had the courage to tell what she saw.  The woman gladly accepted it,  returned to her care home  started turning mattresses and walking easily up and down a steep hill.

Our May Filling Station will be in Glasbury Village Hall on Friday 30th May, 7pm till 9pm, where our speaker will be our Regional Director for Wales, The Marches and South West, Hellie Glynn.  We look forward to hearing what the Lord has laid on her heart for us.  Hellie has a strong prophetic gifting and has greatly encouraged us in previous Filling Station gatherings in Glasbury, so do bring along your friends, family and neighbours.

Looking forward to seeing you all there,

Penny Williams
