What is the Filling Station?
Alice and Will share more about their experience…
Alice, 26, shares,
“I had been going to a student church in Oxford, but I wanted to experience more of God’s power at work. I had also wanted deliverance prayer for a while but I hadn’t known where to go, as it didn’t seem to be offered at church…
So then I tried out Aylesbury Vale Filling Station and loved it. I saw the freedom the Holy Spirit was given and the space made to explore spiritual gifts… It was what I had been looking for, and felt I was being equipped, invested in and mentored. Plus, their team had been praying for young people to join. I brought three friends along, one of whom, like me, has been on the team since September 2024. It has become like a church family for me, and I have since felt the Lord take me to a smaller, missions-focused church in Oxford.”
Will, 20, says,
“I saw evil in the world and wanted nothing to do with it. Then I came to a Filling Station meeting and found like-minded people that share the morals I live by. Suddenly I found God calling to me in dreams and giving me advice! It was an ex-Policeman talking about the corruption in the Police force and it made me think about all the evil in the world. And I didn’t want to be part of that: I wanted to be on the good side! And try and help others instead of taking advantage people.”
