What happened?
4th May 2024 – what an exciting day that was for our little group in Ryedale. Our first Filling Station meeting, held at our lovely God-chosen, God-given hall in Kirby Misperton, just outside Pickering, N.Yorkshire.
First, we broke some of F.S. rules of organising a meeting; then we made a few rules of our own about organising a meeting (very loose term, ‘organise’), then we broke those rules too, except two. Rule 1: cover the whole event with prayer (actually, that is an F.S rule) Rule 2: there must be a ministry of tea and cake.
BUT GOD…did it anyway. He blessed us and those He brought to the meeting – about two dozen. He must have brought them as we hadn’t advertised.
Who would have thought we would watch a video of an American cowboy convincing an abused horse that he should trust this guy to saddle and ride him, all the while telling us how WE are the horse and, through kindness and gentleness, God is always showing us that we can trust Him. It took the cowboy about an hour to convince the horse – how long does it take for us to trust God?
Our 2nd Filling Station is in 10 days and we are expecting God to do greater and greater things as the months go by. Well, at least we do now have an on-line presence, plus a few road signs to put out…see you there!
