Regular Meeting Night

Monday 9th September we are delighted to have John Pressdee as our Speaker – here what John says about himself – John became a Christian at the age of 19, and he went on to be part of the start up team for Ichthus Christian Fellowship with Roger Forster. It was during a small prayer meeting that he had a picture of thousands of people walking and praying round the city of London. The picture became the March for Jesus and the first year saw 23,000 with flags and banners walking and worshipping God, in the rain and Graham Kendrick began to write his wonderful songs for the streets.

The Holy Spirit called John to walk the length and then the breadth of mainland Britain, and having checked this out with Graham Kendrick, he discovered that Graham had had the same call, so teams walked from John O’Groats to Edinburgh and lands End to London and John led the team from Edinburgh to London.

After walking across from Anglesey to Lowestoft, John began several years of walking and praying all over central Europe, particularly praying into issues of reconciliation.

Still prayer walking John then became the Pastor of Green Street Baptist Church in Kent and retired to Eastbourne at the age of 77 and now worships at St Wilfrid’s church in Willingdon. John is married to Yvonne and has 3 sons and a daughter and 12 grandchildren

John was due to come to us last October but was taken ill so it’s great he can join us now

We meet at Ashburnham Place for coffee at 7pm in the Conservatory and then in the Great Hall for Worship with Gerry Page and his musicians, teaching with John Pressdee and a time of Prayer Ministry for those who would like prayer
