The Fear of the Lord
Many attended our exciting March meeting where we met with God and heard Madi Simpson, Rector of Ulverston speak on the fear of the Lord.
After enjoying a hot drink and cakes we were welcomed by Brian Streeter. Julie Jackson from Grange then led us in dynamic worship. Another Julie Jackson from Kirkby-in-Furness brought a word of prophecy in song.
Madi then spoke deeply on the verse which says “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” She encouraged us to have a healthy awe and respect for God. This she averred is the way to find wisdom which is knowing what to do in certain situations especially those that might be difficult.
We came away with an understanding that God is both awesomely infinite and yet wanting to be very close to us.
At our next meeting we welcome back Richard Fothergill. Richard has been leading a national Filling Station team out in South Africa. We hope to see you there.
