For the past 22 years, Phil has served in prisons throughout Eastern England, including 19 years at HMP The Mount in Hertfordshire. He is currently leading the team at HMP Whitemoor.

His talk is part testimony on God’s call to serve in prison and part what a day is like in the role of a prison chaplain. Phil suggested the theme of ‘Mud’ because often ministry in prison can feel like trying to walk alongside prisoners in the cloying mud of their lives.
